About the Project
Laplante Solutions Financement is a Québec business- and equipment-financing firm. Their credit application lived on paper and PDF — a form clients had to print, sign by hand, scan, and email back. We replaced it with a custom progressive web app: the client fills and signs on their phone, and a clean PDF lands with both the client and the office.
The Challenge
It started as just a PDF. The old way meant the client had to print it, sign it, then scan or photograph it back — and it came back blurry, incomplete, or not at all. The advisor then has to forward each application to the bank, where a poor-quality scan simply isn't proper. On top of that, he couldn't even easily share the form in the first place — after the first digital version his honest reaction was: “I don't even know how to share it.” The fix had to make both ends effortless: clean, bank-ready submissions, and sharing with no chasing or explaining.
Our Process
We digitized the original paper form field-for-field — business and applicant sections, dual on-screen signature, legal consent — into a mobile-first web form. Then we built the part that actually solved his problem: an installable advisor app where he taps a client's email to send a secure link, or copies a ready-made message straight into SMS, WhatsApp, or Messenger. Nothing to chase, nothing to explain. A QR code covers print and in-person.
On submit, the client gets their own PDF copy and the office receives the application by email and in a dashboard with search, CSV export, and a sent-vs-filled completion rate. We iterated live on real-world bugs — UTF-8 email encoding, an Outlook black-signature rendering issue — until Patrick confirmed it worked.
Tech Stack
Custom-coded — no WordPress, no page builder. Hosted on the client’s own domain.
The 2026 Angle
In 2026 the winning move for a paper-bound business isn't a big software rollout — it's one sharp tool that removes a daily friction. A branded, installable web app that turns intake-and-signature into a tap-and-go flow is the kind of small custom app that pays for itself in the time it saves.
